What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?


As I watch the movie “Pirates of the Silicon Valley” for me, it is a good example in terms of Technoprenuership especially to us as an IT student to enhance our skills and ideas about technoprenuership. Technoprenuership means entrepreneurship in the field of technology. It is the key to earn money through technology. And it also not easy, because in this kind of industry or business we can’t always assure to our self and business that we always on the top and always the best because there are also other who are hungry for success in this kind of industry.
Back to the question, there are many factors that we can contribute about the success of Steve Jobs. First is his intelligence who have make him realize to invent and develop technologies like computers for the better of the world with his friend Steve Wozniak who is also a co founder of the Apple Company and who is the main inventor of the technology they produced. By the help of his friends to invent it is also another factor that leads to his success because they’re supporting each other’s inventions. Another is his confidence to success, because he is not ashamed of introducing their invention, talking to many people that made their company much known and let their inventions like computers known to the whole world. Steve Jobs is a type of person who wants to be the employer and not to be an employee just what our teacher want us to be someday, because Jobs wants to be the boss of his own company, and he made it and it is the start of their own company with Steve Wozniak and that is the Apple company which is one of the most known company in the world. Apple I is the first computer that Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak invent and it is the start of the real success of Steve jobs. After the development of Apple I Steve Jobs are continuing to develop more computers which can compete with others.
As time goes by, when Steve Jobs reach his dreams, to become rich, and already have his own Company, he is gradually changing and becomes violent to others especially when he has personal problem or not in the mood just like when her girlfriend told him that she is pregnant. Even though the job of his workers was still on process, he destroys it and sometimes he yells to them when his angry and when he noticed that project was not yet finish. When day pass by, Steve totally change, he just wear shorts and shirts. When we look at him especially other people who did not know him maybe they can say that Jobs is not an employer. Like what when his in work and when someone apply for work, he discriminates it and let them feel that their not fit and deserving to be in the company because Steve didn’t just let anyone be accepted especially from the IBM. Steve Wozniak decided to quit and left Steve Jobs in the company because Wozniak didn’t understand the different attitude of Steve, like for being violent to his employees. And Steve Wozniak also leaves the apple company because the management of Steve jobs changes and he can’t understand it. Because of his bad attitude many of his employees got mad of what he had done. And this is one the one reason of his failure. He did not treat his employees well.
So when Bill Gates visits Steve Jobs to his company try to steal the Macintosh computer of the Apple Company, but bill gates didn’t succeed. Bill Gates is so determined to steal the Macintosh to upgrade it and make it their own invention so he try and try, so they talked to Steve Jobs and try to convince Steve Jobs to let them work for him and knowing that they just after for the Macintosh computer and they also try to convince him that they are a big help to apple in developing computers with their expertise. In the first attempt, Bill Gates did not convince Steve Jobs. But when they talk again, Bill Gates convince get the approval of Steve Jobs to work for the Apple Company and delivered them three units of Macintosh computers. Steve Jobs is so moron that he believes that Bill Gates really wants to work for the Apple Company, interested to help him, and Bill Gates is not part of the IBM anymore which is Steve Jobs enemy. And after letting jobs have bill a unit of Macintosh, Steve doesn’t have any idea that bill is developing and upgrading his Macintosh which they call windows which has more applications than the Macintosh that apple made. So when Steve Jobs heard a rumor about Bill Gates developing a project named windows. Steve Jobs still believe in bill gates that windows are just nothing and their not trying to steal from Steve. But Steve’s employee proves that bill gates is just stealing resources from the apple and it’s true that the project of Bill Gates is real and it’s from the Macintosh computer that are just been upgrade. And because of that mistake bill gates are now richer than Steve jobs. And Steve has been fired by the president he appointed from Apple Company because of eliminating the apple team and changes it to Macintosh team which he made. But Steve have been back to the apple and become the president of the Apple. And the Microsoft company which founded by Bill Gates owns some shares from apple.
With his creative ideas and prudence it leads him to the hit the highest point of his career as a technopreneur, he strive it even he faces failures in his work, he didn’t mind about his hinder but pressed onward to his goal, also he was knowledgeable in his decision and moves to become a successful technopreneur. And I learned from him that we must focus on the outcome, learn from our failures and mistakes. But even though he had failures and mistakes he did not surrender. And this is what we called determination to succeed. And as an IT Student it helps a lot to become a good and successful technopreneur someday or maybe now a day.


How do you see yourself as a technopreneur?

Nowadays technoprenuership is not new in our life cycle. When we talk about technoprenuership it is the combination of technology and entrepreneurship which means business through technology. Technoprenuership is the key to earn money with the help of technology.
By this kind of business many people wants to become a technopreneur and I am the one who wants it. As what I’ve observed many of technopreneur was succeed by this kind of business. And technopreneur is an entrepreneur who is technology pioneering, dares to be different and take the unexplored path, and very passionate about their work. They take challenges and strive to lead their life with greater success. They don't fear to fail. They take failure as a learning experience. Technoprenuers continuously go through an organic process of continual improvement and always try to redefine the dynamic digital economy. And this is the why I’m inspired to become a technopreneur.
As of now as an IT student, maybe I can see in the future that I will become a successful technopreneur. Based on the movie that I’ve seen there are lots of ideas that help me to build a business through the help of technology. That being a technopreneur we must focus on the outcome, be knowledgeable, learn from the failures, and do in the right way, and also to be a successful technopreneur I should value my friends especially the one I am working with. On the other hand, I was very inspired by the determination and perseverance of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, and also I would like to emphasize that Bill Gates has the more will than Steve Jobs because his Microsoft is far smaller than Apple and Bill Gates suited his office in Albuquerque while Steve Jobs’ towered in the city.
If I could be a technopreneur, I can say that there is a possibility that I can be like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates who owns a famous company and a manufacturer of high-tech gadgets in the world of technologies. But Being a technopreneur it is big attainment for me, because I maybe have the chance to have same status like Bill and Steve in life, be rich, and be counted as one of the famous businesswoman in the industry of businesses.
But even if I have the ability of being a technopreneur with a bad attitude like Steve Jobs, maybe I may also fall from success like him because like what they say that what you did wrong to others might be also done to you that more worst than what you have done. So we must be humble, and be good to our employees, because a good leader and technopreneur in a company may lead us to the right success even if we might encounter struggles in our company. I can also see myself as technopreneur that I may have also my own company like the Apple Company was owned by Steve Jobs and Microsoft Company of Bill Gates, or other else maybe I can produce high-tech gadgets that will might compete with the Apple Company and Microsoft Company. Or if maybe not that in kind of industry, I may also help in other way that needs technology because a technopreneur is not that easily give up for something especially if it engages technology. Because Technopreneur makes it a point to stay ahead of the game, even though you will fall you will never give up.
As we observed today’s generation especially here in our country there are many businessmen or entrepreneur adopts technology. Like the business of Internet Café, we all know that Internet is demand now entire the whole world because it have many advantages and it help us especially in terms of communication. In other establishment like food chain of McDonald and Jollibee and other food chain they used also technology like computers and the most hit is the WIFI spot. It makes their establishment more costumers will come. Recently McDonald offer online delivery and it is technoprenuership. In other companies they sell gadgets and technology like for example the EMCOR Company they sell technology made. And most that helps a lot is the Internet technology because it’s totally re-defining how businesses are being modelled and how business strategies are being implemented. The residues left behind by this rapid rate of advancement however are small businesses and entrepreneurs who are not equipped and unwilling to embrace new technologies, mainly attributed to the fear of the unknown. And this is what Technopreneur aims to provide with, the latest information on new, emerging Internet technology trends, sifting the build-up from business reality. And will get the inside track on all things Internet technology that will impact the business tremendously. Business and technology are almost always interlinked. Evolution of technology involuntarily leads to evolution in business. With the one who spots technological trends and learns to use it, gains an upper hand over their competition. Because Technopreneur makes it a point to stay ahead of the game, you will receive the newly, most relevant hindsight ahead of time. This will save our time, which we would better spend at what we already do best at – making money. Occasionally, we will receive advanced perspectives on issues not pertaining directly to Internet technology, but relevant to us all the same as a successful entrepreneur, a consumer.

By the help of technology, me as an IT student it will help me more to develop or improve my capacity and ability in terms of being technopreneur someday. And I will be proud to myself that I’m getting this kind of course that was engaging in the world of technology. Nowadays many technopreneur and entrepreneur was become rich just like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. Because of their knowledge and ability to invent those things they are the good one example to be follow or else we admired. And as I admired them maybe I will be like them someday. But was what I’ve said as an employer we must be humble and do the right one to be respectable to other people especially in your employee.


Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?

For me it’s yes, because as I watch the movie there are lot of things that inspired me most, to be like him someday. But not all in what he have done, because there are also bad things that he did. And this is the reason why I didn’t follow his all aspects because he shown his bad traits like when he discriminates someone who apply in their company. And sometimes he bring his angry to the company and his employee was mad from him because of his attitude was changed. But even though he has this attitude but I admired him in other way like for being an intelligent he show his ability to develop his invented technology like computer. I will take the same path because if I will be a successful technopreneur I can do also what he did but in the other way. In this way I will be a good employer, good model and good leader to them. Because just what other said that say that “what you did wrong to others might be also done to you that more worst than what you have done”. So we must be humble, and be good to our employees, because a good leader and technopreneur in a company may lead us to the right success even if we might encounter struggles in our company.
By this kind of management many people or employee will like you and respect you because you have a good character that inspired them to follow what you want them to do, especially in your company. And being a technopreneur we must focus on the outcome because people judge us by our performance, so we must focus on the outcome. Be knowledgeable; learn from the failures because sometimes when we innovate, we make mistakes. It is best to admit them quickly, and get on with improving our other innovations, and do in the right way and also to be a successful technopreneur I should value our friends especially the one I am working with. On the other hand, I was very inspired by the determination and perseverance of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, and also I would like to emphasize that Bill Gates has the more will than Steve Jobs because his Microsoft is far smaller than Apple. And we should always remember that we should not steal, because according to the bible stealing is a sin. And we must make or create things in our own not by being steal and developing it. Be entrepreneurial; let’s look for the next big thing. Find a set of ideas that need to be quickly, even though the first step is the hardest one. And most of all have the courage to follow your heart and do want we want in our business to be more grow up and develop with the help of technology.
